A century of community, resilience, and footballing excellence.
Our spiritual home, named after our past President, Dinny 'Pops' O’Neill. He saved this club multiple times when things were tight. Naming the ground after him ensures his legacy—and the spirit of keeping the club alive against the odds—is never forgotten.
We've spent a century competing at the very top level. A historic highlight includes our 1994 AOH Cup final appearance led by Gavin O'Mahony—the youngest captain in AOH history. We returned to Turners Cross in 1996 to capture the 'Holy Grail', with manager Joe Lynch and captain Martin Doocey famously lifting the cup alongside Dinny 'Pops' O'Neill. This winning pedigree continues today, highlighted by our First Team securing the 2024 Premier League and City Challenge Cup double.
We are incredibly proud to have produced international players like John Paul O’Sullivan and Patrick O’Connor. The club has always been a breeding ground for exceptional Northside talent.
Honouring the friends we have lost, and the stalwarts who built our foundation.
Losing members of the Grattan United family is something that stays with you. We suffered a huge loss with the passing of Alan O’Brien. It was a heartbreaking time, but we came together to honour him by permanently retiring his number 9 jersey.
We also pay special tribute to the late Martin O’Leary, whose passing is deeply felt by everyone, and Vicky Lynch and Connie O’Mahony, who were instrumental in building our club's infrastructure.
Over 100 years, there are too many legends to name. However, we must acknowledge the people who have kept the club going through thick and thin. Stalwarts like Martin Deuce, Martin Cambridge, Pat Caulfield, Don O’Leary, and the Riordan brothers, Eddie and John.
"To everyone who has ever washed a set of jerseys, lined the pitch at O’Neill Park on a freezing Sunday morning, or sold a lotto ticket—this centenary is for you."
In the early 2000s, these members donated €500 each to fund the construction of our dressing rooms. We wouldn't be here without them.
